SEE BELOW FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR CHILD'S AWANA GROUP

AWANA is a children’s ministry committed to “reaching boys and girls with the gospel of Jesus Christ and training them to serve Him.” The mission of Awana is to assist parents and local churches around the world in communicating to children the good news that Jesus Christ died and rose again so that all those who trust in Him will be forgiven of their sin, receive everlasting life, and live a life of obedience to God.

Each week, in over 16,000 churches more than one million boys and girls in 114 countries attend Awana clubs where they play games, memorize Bible verses and learn Bible lessons. From preschool to the adult leaders, they all have fun while being taught the Word of God.

AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.  This comes from 2 Timothy 2:15, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”

The Awana club for PRESCHOOLERS is built on two premises:

  • Young children should receive spiritual training.
  • Home is the primary place for spiritual training.

Our preschool program meets these needs through . . .

Fun - and lots of it!

Awana is fun with a purpose - to reach and train kids for Jesus Christ. Games, puppets, crafts, awards and other     activities transform our preschool program into a lively weekly experience where fun and learning go hand in hand.

Friendly characters and leaders
Cubbie Bear, Luv E. Lamb, Ern E. Elephant, Zip E. Zebra and Gigi Giraffe take preschoolers on a thrilling journey through God’s Word. Caring, committed volunteer leaders nurture and love your children.

Foundational teaching
Bible-centered handbooks and club activities help your children begin to build a solid understanding of the basics of Christianity at an early age.

Family involvement
Cubbies supports parents as the primary source of spiritual nurturing. By working directly with their child on the weekly handbook lessons, parents become active participants in their child’s spiritual development.

Just look at what they will learn after only two years:

  • Approximately 55 memory verses - and up to 120 additional verses if they do the extra-credit work!
  • Key basic truths about Jesus, salvation and the Bible.
  • The gospel and their need to trust Christ as Savior.

The Awana club for KINDERGARTEN through SECOND GRADE builds on the material taught in Cubbies and it’s aim is to:

Take youngsters a step deeper into God’s Word.
Give boys and girls regular opportunities to hear the gospel and come to faith in Jesus Christ.

Immersing kids in God’s Word
The Sparks program is firmly grounded in Scripture. The three handbooks feature:

  • Basic truths about God, Jesus, salvation and the Bible.
  • An increased emphasis on Scripture memory. In three years, a child will learn and review 68 verses.
  • Clear and consistent presentation of the gospel message.

Fun + learning = results
Sparks club meetings combine learning with fun to create an atmosphere of irresistible excitement for all kids. Club night is divided into three segments:

  • Bible teaching, worship, award & gospel presentation.
  • Small group interaction and completion of lessons.
  • Age-appropriate games.

In addition to an entrance booklet, the Sparks curriculum is comprised of three handbooks. Each handbook communicates spiritual truths through memory verse drills, crafts, activities and review of key doctrine, Bible facts and verses. All three handbooks follow a nature motif (Skipper, Hiker and Climber).

The theme of the first handbook is “Jesus in the past”. The second book’s theme is “Jesus in the present”. The theme of the third book is “Jesus in the future.”

The Awana club for THIRD through FIFTH GRADE (optional for sixth grade) reflects the passion of Awana to reach this age-group with the truth of God’s Word and train them to follow Christ in their daily lives.

T&T is equipped with a variety of dynamic tools and exciting features to get kids excited about God's Word:

  • Four handbooks of increasing difficulty which teach children that life’s ultimate adventure is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • A cast of fun characters that boys and girls learn from and follow on interesting journeys in the handbooks.
  • Weekly meetings that expose children to the gospel message, Scripture memory, Bible study, awards, team-oriented games and gut-busting fun!
  • A Bible-centered curriculum that helps kids build a firm foundation for their faith, hide God’s Word in their heart and apply the truths of Scripture to their daily lives.
  • Interactive CDs that use exciting high-tech games to teach and reinforce key biblical truths.

Evangelism and discipleship go hand in hand in our third-thru fifth-grade (optional for sixth grade) program. By the time a child has completed T&T, he/she will have:

  • Learned and reviewed approximately 310 verses.
  • Regularly heard and read the gospel message
  • Learned how to apply God’s Word to their daily life.
