THE HANDS OF A MAN

I hold my hands before my face
the hands of a man I see
The hairy knuckles and callouses
don't speak of the boy in me.

The little one inside who is crying out,
"Heavenly Father what's wrong with me!"
I try and try and I still fall short
of the man I ought to be.
