Beverly Barnhart I found out about Heritage from my previous Pastor, from the phone book and from the church website. There were several churches that I had planned on visiting but Heritage stood out in my mind. For some time I kept thinking about visiting, when I came Pastor John was preaching about the life of a child in the mother's womb and a representative from the Open Arms Center was visiting. This was very important to me that a family of believers would hold fast to the value in the life of a child. Psalm 139 is my favorite Bible section, especially versus 13-16. I see this value continue when we have our Children's Message, our Kid's Sunday School, Youth activities and events, the AWANA events and our Family Day's. Coming from a background of youth group activities, I have experienced how important this foundation can become. Through this family of believers I have become interconnected through the meals that we share, the "I just need to have a break, let's play some games or let's sit and talk" and the ministry opportunities we have shared. These friendly people who have listened to my heartaches and concerns, have helped me not only in my spiritual life but also in my every day living through a change in my perspectivies or my attitudes and the way I am in different relationships. There have been times when I have seen their lives and I know that one day I can face those challenges as they did and have the same kind of encouragement they received.
